An (dictionary definition of an) entrepreneur is defined as a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk. “Especially a business” and “considerable risk” are the most profound parts of this definition. Imagine you thinking (or dreaming) to yourself that you want to invent or create a product or service or start a business that you control. Most of us sit in our homes and look in the mirror and have these grand ideas about making it big but never, ever, take the first action to make that idea or dream a reality. Why is that? Maybe lack of belief, lack of capital. Maybe you think it’s for “other” people. Understand that it is HARD to be a successful entrepreneur. Very hard! To start a business and become a successful entrepreneur like Steve Jobs, some would think it’s impossible for the average “joe”. It takes a lot of money, a lot of risk, a lot of time out of your life. Are you ready to commit 20 hours per day to start a business? The unfortunate thing is that, many people don’t even know that it takes that sacrifice. It is flat out hard to grasp, more mentally, than financially.
The great thing about the pursuit of entrepreneurship like Steve Jobs set out and accomplished is that you dictate your own life. You dictate what happens to you and when it happens. There is no greater feeling to be in control of your own life. Imagine getting up when you are actually finished sleeping or eating wherever you fancy? That sort of lifestyle is only accomplished by the entrepreneur who decides to commit to doing small things every day for a sustained period of time. The best part of starting a business is that it doesn’t have to require an exorbitant amount of capital. Starting a business can range from $250 – $1,000,000 if you want to get into franchising. The reward is like no other IF you consistently sustained having good work habits and doing little things that make you money every day.
I know every day people that have started business, primarily from their home that now make in upwards of 6 figures per month. I personally know teachers, nurses, accountants and government employees that started a home based business from their living room that make $8,000-$13,000 per month. The proof is out there and it cannot be denied. So many new entrepreneurs start a business every day. Those that commit to a system, or commit to a process over a sustained period of time will succeed. I hope Steve Jobs’ legacy of entrepreneurialism and making the world a better and different place lives on in you, starting today.
