Successfully Appeal Your Parking Tickets

Since the days of legitimisation in 1990, appeals for parking tickets have shown a sharp increase from the motorists. This in turn has led majority of people to apply more and more for the appeals.

People claim that the reason for issuing these and increasing public demand is because these local authorities since the days of decriminalization are collecting the parking fines illegally and without any evidence of wrong parking points. This theory that a parking ticket could save him from getting charged with illegal fines led to year on year increase in parking ticket issues.

You will undoubtedly find that there are many reasons to appeal your parking fine. For instance, do you really want to pay the hundred pound fee? What if you didn’t really commit the act? What if the act was committed under obscure circumstances? Either way, you cannot afford to pay that fee and you shouldn’t have to.

It is always a good idea to claim for a parking ticket if you genuinely feel you should not have been charged. Around 50% of motorists who decide to appeal against their parking tickets win. Most of the time the local councils do not even bother to turn up to fight the case.

In case nobody was ever issued with a parking ticket, then there would have been no issues of chaos and confusion of traffic on the road; the Local Council would have smaller financial constraints for supporting their travel taxes or they would have never imposed unfair parking fines for raising revenues in collecting Council Taxes.

This is the theory behind compelling a motorist to buy a parking ticket and receiving parking fine even if he breaks the law or even if he doesn’t. In real world these traffic wardens face the increasing pressure to issue more and more tickets to unsuspecting motors.

Any motorist thinking of parking in a public car park or on a public road please make sure you have read any nearby signs or road markings. If you are unsure that you are legally parked then just do not park there it’s really not worth the risk of getting a huge parking fine or having to appeal a parking ticket.

To appeal for a parking is not a very hard procedure. But in spite of this easy steps 99% people are still paying their parking fine. All it takes a simple 10minute consuming letter to the local council or if you are lucky then one very quick and easy email.

So just sitting down and writing a 10minute email or letter to save 30-120 pounds is too much hassle for you? Of course it is not. The fact is that majority people do not realise its easy and smooth concept. This a website where parking ticket appeals comes into its own. This website will provide you out with a template letter or even appeal in terms of you.

To make the parking appeal more interesting and one shot success one needs to provide out with the fact that the parking ticket issued is invalid and illegal. For instances like providing photographic evidence that the offence did not occur or signs were not correctly displayed etc. With this attempt of nearly two third people that it is invalid and illegal way to issue the appeal retains a greater chance to win.

There’s yet another way other than photography. One can utilize technicality to help appeal for a parking ticket. Common technicalities are to do with what is on the parking ticket. Say you got a ticket and it said you were parked in Smith Street when in fact you were parked in Smith Road you could argue that the contravention never occurred thus winning your parking ticket appeal.

Again there is yet another new relative phenomenon called private parking tickets. In this the ticket appears similar to what a traffic warden gives you only the distinction from normal ticket is it will say something like “Parking Charge Notice pay within 14 days for a reduced rate. Non payment will result in us contacting the D.V.L.A. for your details.”

Because they are not issued by the city, they are far from a legally binding contract. You could pay them of course, but you should know that they will often send threatening mail in an attempt to make you pay. Do not give in, and understand that they are only threatening you because they cannot actually take you to court.

To make my point more clear let me tell you one instance of a company called Euro car parks where they have never taken anyone to court for non payment of parking fines. If any company takes you to court in such cases they would have to prove that you as registered keeper and you were party to any contract (when you enter their car park you enter in to a contract). If they prove you were driving the car all they would be entitled to be the amount you should of paid e.g. 2 pounds for an hours extra parking.

That being said, try to avoid paying tickets of this nature regardless of the threats you receive. If you are harassed for too long, try telling the company that you will bring them to court if they continue. If they don’t stop, then don’t be afraid to take them to court. Whatever you do, don’t pay them just to get them off your back.
